وَجِا۟ىٓءَ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِجَهَنَّمَ ۚ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ﴿٢٣﴾يَقُولُ يَـٰلَيْتَنِى قَدَّمْتُ لِحَيَاتِى﴿٢٤﴾فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌ﴿٢٥﴾وَلَا يُوثِقُ وَثَاقَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌ﴿٢٦﴾يَـٰٓأَيَّتُهَا ٱلنَّفْسُ ٱلْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ﴿٢٧﴾ٱرْجِعِىٓ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً مَّرْضِيَّةً﴿٢٨﴾فَٱدْخُلِى فِى عِبَـٰدِى﴿٢٩﴾وَٱدْخُلِى جَنَّتِى﴿٣٠﴾

89:23And brought [within view], that Day, is Hell - that Day, man will remember, but how [i.e., what good] to him will be the remembrance?

89:24He will say, "Oh, I wish I had sent ahead [some good] for my life."1

89:25So on that Day, none will punish [as severely] as His punishment,

89:26And none will bind [as severely] as His binding [of the evildoers].

89:27[To the righteous it will be said], "O reassured soul,

89:28Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him],

89:29And enter among My [righteous] servants

89:30And enter My Paradise."

البلدAl-Balad

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِهَـٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدِ﴿١﴾وَأَنتَ حِلٌّۢ بِهَـٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدِ﴿٢﴾وَوَالِدٍ وَمَا وَلَدَ﴿٣﴾لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ فِى كَبَدٍ﴿٤﴾أَيَحْسَبُ أَن لَّن يَقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ أَحَدٌ﴿٥﴾يَقُولُ أَهْلَكْتُ مَالًا لُّبَدًا﴿٦﴾أَيَحْسَبُ أَن لَّمْ يَرَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌ﴿٧﴾أَلَمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُۥ عَيْنَيْنِ﴿٨﴾وَلِسَانًا وَشَفَتَيْنِ﴿٩﴾وَهَدَيْنَـٰهُ ٱلنَّجْدَيْنِ﴿١٠﴾فَلَا ٱقْتَحَمَ ٱلْعَقَبَةَ﴿١١﴾وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْعَقَبَةُ﴿١٢﴾فَكُّ رَقَبَةٍ﴿١٣﴾أَوْ إِطْعَـٰمٌ فِى يَوْمٍ ذِى مَسْغَبَةٍ﴿١٤﴾يَتِيمًا ذَا مَقْرَبَةٍ﴿١٥﴾أَوْ مِسْكِينًا ذَا مَتْرَبَةٍ﴿١٦﴾ثُمَّ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلصَّبْرِ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلْمَرْحَمَةِ﴿١٧﴾أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ﴿١٨﴾

90:1I swear by this city [i.e., Makkah]

90:2And you, [O Muḥammad], are free of restriction in this city

90:3And [by] the father1 and that which was born [of him],

90:4We have certainly created man into hardship.

90:5Does he think that never will anyone overcome him?

90:6He says, "I have spent wealth in abundance."

90:7Does he think that no one has seen him?

90:8Have We not made for him two eyes?

90:9And a tongue and two lips?

90:10And have shown him the two ways?1

90:11But he has not broken through the difficult pass.1

90:12And what can make you know what is [breaking through] the difficult pass?

90:13It is the freeing of a slave

90:14Or feeding on a day of severe hunger

90:15An orphan of near relationship

90:16Or a needy person in misery

90:17And then being among those who believed and advised one another to patience and advised one another to compassion.

90:18Those are the companions of the right.1
