وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَشْقَى﴿١١﴾ٱلَّذِى يَصْلَى ٱلنَّارَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ﴿١٢﴾ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ﴿١٣﴾قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ﴿١٤﴾وَذَكَرَ ٱسْمَ رَبِّهِۦ فَصَلَّىٰ﴿١٥﴾بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا﴿١٦﴾وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰٓ﴿١٧﴾إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَفِى ٱلصُّحُفِ ٱلْأُولَىٰ﴿١٨﴾صُحُفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ﴿١٩﴾

87:11But the wretched one will avoid it

87:12[He] who will [enter and] burn in the greatest Fire,

87:13Neither dying therein nor living.

87:14He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself

87:15And mentions the name of his Lord and prays.

87:16But you prefer the worldly life,

87:17While the Hereafter is better and more enduring.

87:18Indeed, this is in the former scriptures,

87:19The scriptures of Abraham and Moses.

الغاشيةAl-Ghashiyah

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْغَـٰشِيَةِ﴿١﴾وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَـٰشِعَةٌ﴿٢﴾عَامِلَةٌ نَّاصِبَةٌ﴿٣﴾تَصْلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِيَةً﴿٤﴾تُسْقَىٰ مِنْ عَيْنٍ ءَانِيَةٍ﴿٥﴾لَّيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِن ضَرِيعٍ﴿٦﴾لَّا يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِى مِن جُوعٍ﴿٧﴾وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاعِمَةٌ﴿٨﴾لِّسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌ﴿٩﴾فِى جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ﴿١٠﴾لَّا تَسْمَعُ فِيهَا لَـٰغِيَةً﴿١١﴾فِيهَا عَيْنٌ جَارِيَةٌ﴿١٢﴾فِيهَا سُرُرٌ مَّرْفُوعَةٌ﴿١٣﴾وَأَكْوَابٌ مَّوْضُوعَةٌ﴿١٤﴾وَنَمَارِقُ مَصْفُوفَةٌ﴿١٥﴾وَزَرَابِىُّ مَبْثُوثَةٌ﴿١٦﴾أَفَلَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَى ٱلْإِبِلِ كَيْفَ خُلِقَتْ﴿١٧﴾وَإِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ كَيْفَ رُفِعَتْ﴿١٨﴾وَإِلَى ٱلْجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَتْ﴿١٩﴾وَإِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَيْفَ سُطِحَتْ﴿٢٠﴾فَذَكِّرْ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُذَكِّرٌ﴿٢١﴾لَّسْتَ عَلَيْهِم بِمُصَيْطِرٍ﴿٢٢﴾

88:1Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]?

88:2[Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled,

88:3Working [hard] and exhausted.1

88:4They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire.

88:5They will be given drink from a boiling spring.

88:6For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant

88:7Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger.

88:8[Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure.

88:9With their effort [they are] satisfied

88:10In an elevated garden,

88:11Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech.1

88:12Within it is a flowing spring.

88:13Within it are couches raised high

88:14And cups put in place

88:15And cushions lined up

88:16And carpets spread around.

88:17Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created?

88:18And at the sky - how it is raised?

88:19And at the mountains - how they are erected?

88:20And at the earth - how it is spread out?

88:21So remind, [O Muḥammad]; you are only a reminder.

88:22You are not over them a controller.
