Ismail ya zaɓi. Ba an tilasta shi ba. Ba ya roƙo, ba ya gudu, ba ya kuka. Ya ce: "Yi abin da aka umurce ka."
Wannan zaɓi ne mai nauyi — kuma abin ban sha'awa ne.
Ma'anar Sadaukarwa
Mene ne sadaukarwa ta gaske? A yawancin al'adun duniya, ana ɗauka sadaukarwa tana nufin ba da wani abu mai tsada. Amma labarinsa yana nuna wani abu mai zurfi: sadaukarwa ta gaske tana nufin amana cewa, a ƙarshe, duk abin da kake son ba da shi yana hannun wani Babba fiye da kai.
Ibrahim da Ismail su biyu sun kai matakin da yarda cewa rayuwa — har ma rayuwar ɗa — ba tana hannun su gaba ɗaya ba. Wannan ba hauka ba ce — ita ce mafi zurfin imani.

Ba dukkanmu muna fuskantar gwajin Ibrahim ba. Amma mu duka muna fuskantar sigogin sa a ƙarami:
Shin muna riƙe da wani abu da muka sanya mafi muhimmanci fiye da duk wani abu — da wuya mu bayyana ko ƙarfin zuciya mu ba shi tashi — kuma wannan yana hana mu girma ta ruhaniyya?
